Olaku is a new style of Japanese kitchen that needed to avoid the usual cliche’s of sumo and stylised fish.

Originating from a family name, Olaku translates as contentment and happiness. The icon is a simple geometric representation of the sushi roll and Japanese flag, while the colour scheme of orange and chocolate brown was used to convey warmth and energy. The circle motif was continued throughout the store identity onto the menus, wallpapers and even the suspended lights in the serving area.
